News: Third Party Games with Wii Software

Nintendo has unveiled plans which will allow games developers to develop third party games and software titles which will be available via the Wii Shopping Channel. The initiative, called Wii Software, is aimed to get original games downloadable onto the Wii games console, as early as 2008.
Nintendo's European marketing director, Laurent Fischer said, "Wii Software provides developers with big ideas - rather than big budgets - an easy and very accessible way to create new games and bring them to the marketplace."
